NEWS & NOTES
Forespar flush-out valves
the engine to draw fresh water
from a bucket. Thanks to
Forespar ( forespar.com), a leading
manufacturer of marine hardware,
this task just got easier.
Forespar’s engine flush-out valve
allows easy freshwater flushing
without disassembling hoses or
fittings. The valve, made of
Forespar’s legendary nonmetallic,
noncorroding Marelon plastic, is
equipped with a three-position
handle (raw-water in, off, and
freshwater in) that enables the user
to select which water the engine
uses. A choice of valves is available.
One is equipped with a garden
hose fitting, while the other utilizes
a hose barb for the freshwater inlet
side. (Remember: never attach
pressurized water plumbing to an
engine that’s not running.) The
valves are available in a variety
of sizes.
In addition to being useful for
flushing your engine with fresh
water, the engine flush-out valve
also can be used to easily run
winterizing antifreeze through your
engine’s raw-water system for off-season storage. These valves, like all
of Forespar’s seacocks, are ABYC-compliant and UL-marine-approved sea valves.—S.D’A.
