NEWS & NOTES
Marine East bulkhead connector
and other components, recently
introduced a handy solution to this
problem. The company’s Bulkhead
Fitting Assembly consists of an
oval-shaped plastic flange that is
inserted into a bulkhead hole. Wires
and hoses can be passed through
this smooth fixture without the
installer having to worry about
chafe or damage.
An optional stepped rubber boot
can be cut to accommodate the
bundle and installed. To keep things
airtight and to prevent fumes and
noise from passing through the
bulkhead, sealant can be injected
under the boot, where it remains
unseen. The result is a clean, secure,
professional-looking installation
that will protect wires, hoses, and
cables as well as offer an airtight
seal.—S.D’A.
PDQ YACHTS’ NEW LEADERSHIP
Earlier this year we shared the
news that PDQ Yachts, which had
recently shut its doors in Whitby,
Ontario, was purchased by Pearson
Composites LLC of Rhode Island.
We are pleased to report that
success is evident with the
appointment of Beth Simkins as
division manager for the PDQ
Yachts division of the company.
You have probably seen Beth’s
name in association with Rhumb
Line Yachts, where she spent the
last four years working on the
marketing, sales, owner education,
and cruising aspects of PDQ
catamarans in New England. Her
background is ideal experience as
she takes on this new role.
Pearson CEO Patrick Burke
says, “Beth’s product knowledge,
customer relationships, and energy
assure a great future for the PDQ
product line. Pearson and all PDQ
owners are fortunate to have her
leading the charge.”
If you’ve met Beth at a boat
show or Trawler Fest, you will
recognize her smiling face and
enthusiasm as she tells you about
all the latest and greatest from
Pearson and PDQ Yachts
