Q&A WITH NAVICO’S DON KORTE

Island, he was the guy who could make a radio from a
rusty coat hanger and a pair of coconuts. Korte, however,

is a real-life expert in radio frequency (RF) engineering.
Working for Navico, whose brands include Lowrance
and Simrad, Korte spent years developing a 36-mile radar
that is unique to the recreational boating market. As
senior product manager and principal engineer, it could
be said that Korte is the father and mother of Broadband
Navico Senior Product Manager Don Korte points at the tiny components that take the place of a magnetron in Navico’s Broadband
Radar systems.
