NEWS & NOTES
The Altima Voyager 68
can be custom-tailored to
each owner’s performance
preferences, be they for brisk,
efficient cruising or relaxed
long-range expeditions at a
hull speed of more than 10
knots. At a fast cruising speed
of 17 knots, the Altima 68
Voyager is expected to burn
88 gallons per hour with twin
Caterpillar C- 18 ACERT
engines. At a displacement speed of
10. 5 knots, the yacht is projected to
burn just 20 gallons per hour, with a
range of around 1,200 nautical miles.
Caterpillar C- 12 ACERT engines will
appeal to those who want maximum
range at displacement speeds, and
will provide a cruising range at hull
speeds of up to 1,800 nautical miles.

and integrated bulwarks for added
safety. To that end, the hull has
been designed with a fine entry and
modestly rounded bilge sections
amidships, which gradually evolve
into a broad, efficient underbody
utilizing shallow propeller pockets
for modest draft. A full-length keel
protects the running gear and helps
ensure maximum directional stability
in all sea conditions.
STAR IS BORNE TO MARKET
The STAR in Green Marine STAR
displays stands for Stretched Aspect
Ratio, another way of saying “long
and slender.” STAR is part of Green
Marine’s suite of Bridge Command
products that include conventionally
shaped 19- and 24-inch displays.
But with an active display area
that is just slightly smaller than
19 by 4 inches, STAR is designed
to fill gaps in unused console space,
which on many trawlers includes
overhead cabinetry.
STAR works by taking the
software feed to a display and
dividing it into thirds horizontally.
