A PROVEN TEAM
OFFERS A NEW YACHT
Here’s a new sport trawler we’re
eager to see: the VänderArk 47.
Why? Because she’s the product of
a team of proven designers, engineers,
and builders.
The VänderArk 47 will be a luxury
craft on a semi-displacement hull by
Luiz De Basto Designs, a Miami-based firm known for its work on
yachts and commercial vessels. The
boats will be built and engineered by
Asia Harbor Yachts in Taiwan.
De Basto Designs created a full-body pilothouse that includes a
covered aft deck and a molded sunpad
on the foredeck. The V47 will be
offered with one or two staterooms.
She’ll be powered by twin 480hp
Yanmar diesel engines and is expected
to cruise at 20-plus knots. The design
firm said the yacht’s living spaces will
be “modern yet minimalist” and will
feature a handcrafted cherry interior.
The V47 will have a waterline
length of 41 feet 2 inches and a
beam of 15 feet 7 inches. She’ll have
a relatively shallow draft of 2 feet 10
inches and will carry 588 gallons of
fuel and 360 gallons of water.
The yachts will be sold from the
factory. The base price is $925,000.

SWAP FILTERS FROM THE HELM
Any boat owner who has
experienced a clogged filter while
under way is sure to appreciate an
option that’s now available on the
FilterBOSS Commander filter-control and fuel-polishing system.
The new Electric Filter Selector
(EFS) from KTI Systems allows you
to bring a clean filter online with
the flip of a switch at the helm—an
especially appealing feature for
singlehanders and for those whose
filters are hard to reach when
banging about in a seaway.
The EFS has an “early warning
panel” that sounds an alarm and
displays a warning light to let you
know a fuel filter is clogging, as
determined by the FilterBOSS
Commander’s vacuum gauge.
Flipping the panel’s switch takes the
dirty filter offline and puts a clean
filter into operation. You’ll still have
to change the clogged filter before
you can reset the switch, but you
can do that later at the dock.
The FilterBOSS Commander
incorporates dual fuel filters, a fuel
pump, pressure and vacuum gauges,
and other components that allow
you to polish your fuel, check for
leaks in your fuel system, and bleed
air from the system when needed.
The fuel pump flow rates range from
50gph to 180gph, depending on the
model, and the units are offered in
12- and 24-volt configurations. All of
the plumbing and fittings are ABYC
compliant and are of aircraft grade.
The EFS feature is available on
all new FilterBOSS Commander
systems, or it can be added as an
upgrade to already-installed systems.
