WASHBURN’S
BOAT YARD
For years we had heard wonderful things things
about Washburn’s Boat Yard but never expected
that our cruising would take us there. After several
boats and cruising experiences ranging from Florida
to Trinidad and Alaska through Mexico, we purchased
a Selene 53 in Solomons, MD. We had literally landed
in the lap of Washburn’s Boatyard and what a
fortuitous landing it was.
Chris Washburn immediately took charge and every
project was tackled with enthusiasm and a can-do
attitude by his professional and personable staff.
This team exhibits an amazing array of on-site talents.
Fine carpentry and finishes, mechanical and
electrical excellence, parts procurement and electronic
wizardry are all part of the Washburn program. Eric
is a project manager extraordinaire and Linda at the
Bill and Ginny Gordon aboard Selene 53 Kalista front office cements it all together with her delightful
good humor and bagels on Friday.
Most of the work on Kalista was done while we were home in Colorado. Whether by phone, email, or pictures,
either Chris or Eric were always easily accessible. They willingly spent the time necessary to research, explain or
problem solve with us. Every project, mundane to complex, was successfully accomplished. We, who had come as
customers, left as family. Washburn’s Boatyard is all that a great boat yard should be.
