NEWS & NOTES
( pdqyachts.com). Watch for the first
Pearson-built PDQ 34 to launch
before the end of the year and for
the splash of the first 41 in 2009.
In addition to the experience
Beth brings to the product lines,
she will maintain the continuity
of PDQ University and PDQ’s
flotillas. It’s not too early to start
planning to attend a PDQ event;
there is already a “Lobsta Crawl”
on the calendar for July 2009. Join
the flotilla in Rhode Island and
enjoy the splendor of the New
England and Nova Scotia coasts
as you cruise north with fellow
multihull enthusiasts. For more
on PDQU and flotilla events,
visit pdqflotillas.com.
Congratulations, Beth, on your
new role and for keeping education
and flotilla cruising an exciting
option for PDQ owners!—N.F.

FINNISH WEATHER BEATER
Carl Skarne of Skarne Marine in
Milford, Connecticut, believes that
some cruisers will want all-weather
protection and a good turn of
speed in their next boat.
To that end, Skarne is importing
the Minor line from Sarins Boats
Ltd. of Finland, a family-owned
boatbuilding firm that is celebrating
its 40th anniversary this year. The
new Minor 27, one of 10 models
ranging from 21 to 37 feet, has
arrived in North America for the
first time.
