Cruising: “Before switching to power, I raced sailing
catamarans. This year I cruised MyCat up the ICW from
Florida to Zimmerman Marine. I plan to head up to
Connecticut and Rhode Island this fall, then stop back at
ZMI on my way to Florida and points south for the
winter.”
Favorite Cruising Destinations: “Each place is unique unto
itself and I find that I like them all, in addition to the
interesting people I meet in each new location. I just
enjoy cruising, period!”
Reason for Boatyard Stop: “Primarily, I came to have a
fuel-polishing system installed. Now that I’m here and see
the quality workmanship, I’m going to have an electro-
hydraulic arch fabricated for electronics and antennas,
add fluorescent lighting, and take care of a number of
new-boat details to really make the boat ‘mine’.”
Why Zimmerman Marine? “I consulted with ZMI, from
Vancouver, on the fuel-polishing system. Then I got to
thinking: ‘Why go somewhere else; why not go to the
source?’ So I had MyCat loaded onto a freighter and
shipped through the Panama Canal and up to Florida,
and then cruised her north to ZMI to have the work
done.”
