When we launched Wind Horse three and a half years ago, we had a pretty good idea what to
expect from her in terms of performance. Between tank testing, hundreds of thousands of miles
of real-world experience designing sailboats, and calculations made with drag- and velocity-predicting software, we knew how Wind Horse would behave.
What we didn’t know was how we would react. We were, after all, sailors. And after a lifetime
of looking down our noses at powerboats, it was hard to picture ourselves on a “stinkpot” (we are
being polite here).
